The new Marathon becomes much faster and even lighter - road bike technology meets Marathon quality: With the Marathon Efficiency, Schwalbe presents a new evolutionary stage of the legendary Marathon - for modern e-bikes and fast touring bikes. It is Schwalbe's fastest touring tire and even increases the range of e-bikes. The Marathon line stands for the highest quality characteristics: durability, very high puncture protection and excellent everyday suitability. In addition, the new Efficiency loses weight and significantly rolling resistance through Pro One road bike technology.
The result: a dynamic and faster tire. Thanks to the low rolling resistance, it runs noticeably smoothly and efficiently, so that even the battery on e-bikes is protected and the range is increased by up to seven percent compared to high-quality comparison tires. The improved efficiency was confirmed by measurements in the range simulator at Bosch, but also by the extensive practical tests conducted by Schwalbe's test riders.
THE PRACTICE TEST
Every new Schwalbe tire is extensively tested in the laboratory and by test riders before the official launch, sometimes far more than a hundred thousand kilometers. One of the test riders of the new Marathon Efficiency is Josef Bättig. The Swiss rider uses the tire on his S-pedelec for his daily commute: 45 kilometers easy.
THE TECHNOLOGY
With the Super Race construction and the Addix Race rubber compound, the tire draws on two essential components of the Pro One. Thanks to the combination with the V-Guard, the Efficiency has a very high puncture protection - a unique combination in this lower weight class. The Marathon Efficiency has in addition to the very good running properties on asphalt also solid perfomance in light terrain.
THE OPTICS
The sporty, progressive design of the tread is striking. The wide tread with slick in the middle area meets grippy, diamond blocks on the shoulder, which provide grip in light terrain. Together, they add up to the versatile range of use. In addition, it is the first Marathon model that is optionally available in two sizes with Transparent Skin sidewall.
SIZES AND CERTIFICATION
The Marathon Efficiency is available in five sizes - for high-quality touring bikes and sporty urban bikes as well as for modern e-bikes to moderate SUV bikes. It has reflective stripes and has the approval for fast e-bikes (ECE-R75).

SUPER RACE CONSTRUCTION+ V-GUARD
The combination of V-Guard with the Super Race construction provides an extremely stable sidewall by 3-layer carcass fabric and an enormously stitch and tear resistant Vectran fabric under the tread.
ADDIX RACE COMPOUND
The rubber compound provides extra strong grip at high cornering speeds and long durability in E-mode.
REFLEX STRIPES
The reflective strips light up very brightly in the headlights. As they shine back in the direction of the headlights, the two tire-sized light circles make you very visible and noticeable as a cyclist. For greater safety in road traffic.
