Campaigns for a decent future
Whether fair trade materials, nature conservation, protection of the climate or future-proof mobility, our campaigns demonstrate that we treat responsibility as a holistic concept.
Together with a number of strong partners, we foster projects that ensure fair working conditions, promote biodiversity, cut emissions and advance sustainable modes of transport. In this way, we’re providing incentives for real change, step by step, at both local and international level.
THE FAIR AND SUSTAINABLE NATURAL RUBBER SUPPLY CHAIN
Schwalbe shows how economic success can be paired with social responsibility. By way of confirmation, the company was presented with the German government’s CSR prize in 2025 for its commitment to fair trade natural rubber.
ENCOURAGING BIODIVERSITY AT SCHWALBE
Intact ecosystems from the roots of sustainable mobility. This is why we’re actively committed to projects across the globe that conserve natural landscapes, create new natural habitats and get local communities involved. Our objective is to encourage biodiversity, regenerate the soil and stabilise natural cycles.
AGROFORESTRY IN ASIA
On the Indonesian island of Java, together with Fair Rubber and local cooperatives we’re creating swathes of agroforest that house a variety of species. Tucked in between rows of rubber saplings, banana plants, vegetables and indigenous shrubs are growing into deciduous forests that secure people’s livelihoods, protect the soil and encourage biodiversity.
REFORESTATION IN WEHNRATH
Close to our headquarters in Reichshof-Wehnrath, we’re driving several regional reforestation projects. Mixed woodland captures carbon, improves the microclimate and creates new habitats for native plants and animals, helping to promote biodiversity right on our doorstep.
BOSF – PROTECTION OF THE RAINFOREST AND BIODIVERSITY
With the Borneo Orangutan Survival Foundation (BOSF), we help to protect endangered rainforest in Indonesia. The project conserves natural habitats for orangutans and many other species, combining reforestation with educational work and strengthening local communities.
Urban Cyclists
For Schwalbe, the bicycle is more than just a means of transport. Cycling cuts carbon emissions, decongests cities and encourages people to take daily exercise. The company wishes to actively promote urban cycling. Our aim is to make cities a place where the bicycle plays an equal role in town traffic as a matter of course.
of passenger-vehicle trips in dense urban areas are shiftable to cycling (UBA)
of all journeys to work or school in Copenhagen are made by bicycle- the highest proportion of any capital city in the world (City of Copenhagen)
of urban routes are shorter than 1 km (PATH)
