WHY WE RIDE

A tire designed for maximum riding enjoyment, whether going uphill or downhill: With the new Romy, Schwalbe introduces a model that makes choosing the right MTB tire especially easy. As a versatile all-rounder, the Romy is perfect for trail and all-mountain riding.

The Profile

Aggressive shoulder lugs provide more grip in corners and maximum control in any situation. The closely spaced center tread pattern with shallower tread depth gives the tire good rolling performance and high durability. The result is a well-balanced overall tread pattern that optimally combines control and versatility. The Romy is lighter than many enduro tires, yet extremely robust and durable. It is suitable for use on both the front and rear wheels.

"As people age they begin to leave their playfulness behind. As a kid you're always playing but then as an adult sometimes people forget how to play and how important it is to play."

Romy is available in various variations:

Schwalbe Line

TRAIL

For classic trails, the TRAIL version is the best choice. It offers excellent grip and reliable puncture protection at an outstanding value. A unique selling point in the market!

Schwalbe Pro Line

GRAVITY PRO

For bikes geared more toward gravity riding, frequent downhill rides, and plenty of stability, we recommend the GRAVITY PRO ROMY

TRAIL PRO

Compared to the TRAIL version, the TRAIL PRO offers even greater puncture protection while weighing less. The TRAIL PRO also features the proven Schwalbe APEX. This additional fabric-reinforced protective layer improves stability and significantly increases puncture resistance—without adding extra weight.

RACE PRO

The Romy in the RACE-PRO version is particularly well-suited for the rear wheel of an enduro bike when the focus is on keeping the weight low and achieving the best rolling performance.

Various
models

Romy is the first tire in Schwalbe’s lineup to be available in a 2.4-inch radial version, following the introduction of the Albert and Shredda tires in 2.5- and 2.6-inch sizes. With the Romy, mountain bikers now have a choice between two casing constructions:

Radial
DIAGONAL

Flexible casing with a larger contact patch for improved grip, safety, and shock absorption. Ideal for the most demanding routes

Flexible carcass construction with a robust structure for direct handling and high stability. Ideal for sporty and versatile use.

Schwalbe's Promise

Circular Economy + Fair Trade Natural Rubber

Schwalbe also uses recycled carbon black from its own tire recycling process in the Romy—as it now does in more than 70% of its entire product portfolio. This results in an 80% reduction in CO₂eq emissions compared to conventional industrial carbon black.

In addition, all PRO versions use fair-trade natural rubber. For every kilogram of natural rubber, Schwalbe pays a premium directly to certified smallholder farmers, who are free to decide how to use it.
