GRAVEL WORLD CHAMPION
Well done, Magnus!
Schwalbe Athlete Magnus Bak Klaris made history at the UCI Gravel World Championships in Nannup, Australia, outsprinting an elite field to claim the rainbow jersey and the biggest victory of his career.
MAGNUS BAK KLARIS
The first "true" gravel world champion
The 30-year-old Dane from PAS Racing Team became the first Danish rider to claim the rainbow jersey. His win marks a milestone for gravel racing, as he becomes the first gravel specialist to take the elite men's world title - and the non-WorldTour rider to win the title in the five-year history of the UCI Gravel World Championships.
"I said before the start that I wanted to risk it and go for a big result, and it was the podium I was thinking about."
"I assessed the risk of punctures on the course to be low, so I opted for the Thunder Burt – an extremely fast and lightweight tire. The volume was ideal for the pumpy sections, while the small knobs provided good grip on the hard surface."
